AirWave Pro - Open Ear Running Headphones

I have tried several bone conduction headsets. This is the overall nicest, in terms of build quality and sound quality. Though, that is reflected in the price. I think it's worth it, but if you are unsure about bone conduction as a concept, you can find less expensive ones to try first.

These work well. We have a son that doesn’t like the feel of the earpod-type of listening devices. He is a runner and these have set on his neck nicely when he’s moving.

This is a nice pair of activewear headphones that can accommodate running or a gym session fairly well allowing your ears to breathe. Interestingly it has a 32gb storage capacity if you want to load music directly in it. I'm not sure who would want to do that with streaming services so ubiquitous, but the option is there. The most important part of this item, the sound quality is pretty good vs value proposition. Recommended!

When I order these I really thought they'd feel annoying wrapped on my head and that the sound would be horrible. WAS I WRONG!! And I happily admit it. They're the MOST comfortable wrap around earbuds I have EVER had the pleasure of trying. The sound(store or streaming) is so clear I was shocked. You can still hear ambient sound while these are on a lower volume. Even up louder they sound great and no one around you can hear it. I even love the way it chargers. It uses a dual pin charger that magnetically clips to the headset. When you're not wearing them, sometimes I forget that I am, you can keep the headset, charging cord, USB to USB-C adapter all in this nice and very durable pouch. I will admit I think the price is a bit on the high side and should come down a few, but maybe that's just me. I still think they're worth the current price.

I am an avid runner, so I was excited to put these to the test. I thought initially they were bone conducting, but they are not. They have mini speakers near your ears. Slight disappointment, only because if I turn them up to get over wind noise, the other people I'm running with can hear noise from them. This also means I can't put in earplugs to drown out other background noise like on an airplane and still hear the headset. I have to take off a star for that. Battery life is shorter than advertised, but not by a lot. I used a written log and used them about 13-14 hours before they started beeping like they needed to be charged. However, that is another problem with these - I cannot figure out at all how to know where the battery charge level is at. There's no way to push a button to figure it out or have any audible alert when they are getting low. Basically they beeped a few times, then died within 20 minutes. Before heading out on a long run, I want to know what battery level I'm at. The battery life, however is really good compared with other running open-ear design headsets. They were back to fully charged in 1.5 hours of charging with the included cable.
I love the controls for skipping 30 sec ahead, 15 sec behind, and pausing. They are integrated in the volume controls and very intuitive. There is no "double tap" stuff like on another brand I usually run with - sometimes the double tap on those isn't recognized etc. etc. This one has flawless control functionality for me. So that made me really happy! I am not sure how long they are going to last, but I am so far happy with these other than the minor issues mentioned.
I have not tried putting music or podcasts directly ON the headset. I do not know how you would select what to play without having a phone to control it somehow. So that is a part I am not able to speak to in this review.
